Abstract
The present project defines the behavior of a road-vehicle chassis in different dynamic situations that it will have to withstand when in use. It begins with the representation on the selected simulation software of the vehicle chassis that is under study. The finite element method is applied to test and to verify its proper functional behavior, introducing the specific restrictions for each situation. Finally, the results are assessed and discussed. The data and the simulations included in this project are intended to yield a result that is as close as possible to reality, evaluating possible simplifications with the basic model and justifying those in cases in which they have been applied. Initially, a series of previous concepts are defined and the most suitable one from among the existing types is evaluated, for study on ANSYS. The chassis that is under study is represented in the graphic environment of the simulation software, placing special attention on the selection of the most optimal component. The problems and solutions are also presented that are carried out during the process, and the mesh of the model is then generated. Finally, the simulations of the different cases under consideration in the project are performed. In the first place, a detailed explanation is given of the whole process that is needed to resolve the case, justifying each decision that was taken, and in each case where necessary, comparing the available possibilities. Subsequently, the solution to each case is established and an individual study is completed, in which the results and their assessment are explained.
