Abstract
Esta contribución analiza la importancia de los bosques para el desarrollo sostenible y el bienestar de la humanidad y vincula su necesaria protección con la Agenda 2030. También se estudian los principales avances normativos e institucionales en el campo de la gobernanza y gestión forestal. Todo ello atendiendo muy especialmente a la labor realizada, en las últimas décadas, por organizaciones internacionales como las Naciones Unidas, la FAO o la Unión Europea entre otras, en la generación de un subsector del Derecho Internacional en formación. Un subsector que tiene clara relación, por supuesto con el Derecho Internacional del medio ambiente pero también con el Derecho Internacional del desarrollo y el Derecho Internacional de los derechos humanos y que nos remite a una serie de principios, instrumentos regulatorios y programas de acción centrados en la protección de los bosques y la preservación de su biodiversidad.
This contribution analyzes the importance of forests for sustainable development and the well-being of humanity and links their necessary protection with the 2030 Agenda. The main regulatory and institutional advances in the field of forest governance and management are also studied. All this paying special attention to the work carried out, in recent decades, by international organizations such as the United Nations, the FAO or the European Union, arnong others, in the generation of a subsector of International Law in formation. A subsector that is clearly related, of course, to international environmental law, but also to international development law and international human rights law, and which refers us to a series of principles, regulatory instrurnents and action prograrns focused on the protection of forests and their biodiversity.
