Las atarazanas andalusíes. Funciones y características dentro de la red portuaria de al-Ándalus

Abstract

El presente artículo forma parte del Trabajo de Final de Máster «Espacios, infraestructuras y redes portuarias en al-Ándalus (siglos IX-XIII)», cuyo principal objetivo era analizar el funcionamiento de la red portuaria andalusí en relación con sus principales infraestructuras. Se exponen a continuación algunos de los resultados acerca de las atarazanas andalusíes, centrados en determinar sus características, su estructuración y sus funciones dentro del puerto, de la ciudad y de la red portuaria. Para ello, se contrastan las fuentes, los estudios arqueológicos y bibliográficos, y los datos obtenidos a partir del estudio de cartografía histórica.

This article is part of the Master’s thesis “Espacios, infraestructuras y redes portuarias en al-Ándalus (siglos IX-XIII)”. Its main objective was to analyse the operation of the Andalusian port network in relation to its main infrastructures. The following are some of the results about the Andalusian shipyards, focused on determining their characteristics, their structure and their functions within the port, the city and the port network. To do this, we compare the sources, the archaeological and bibliographic studies, and the data obtained from the study of historical cartography.
