Abstract
This thesis is an exploration into the queer skateboarding scene of New York City in two parts. The first part, Queering the Park, is an experimental ethnographic film about Jamie Peralta, a queer and trans skateboarder in New York City. The film provides the space for her to share her perspective on what queer skateboarding is and what it means to her. The second part is the written part. It explores the making of the film: from the conceptualization of the project to the end of the film’s post production. It also frames queer skateboarding within mainstream skateboarding and queer communities.
