Description

Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT)., The objectives of this report are to document the significance of the biodiversity of the Howard sand plains SOC and the vulnerabilities of the threatened biodiversity to potential disturbance. The report looks at threatening processes impacting on the biodiversity of the Howard sand plains and the absence of, and improbability of finding techniques to effectively rehabilitate the sand plains' biodiversity. The objectives of the report are compatible with the environmental objectives of the Northern Territory Government’s Framework for the Future policy. The preferred protected area would also be in keeping with the Northern Territory government being signatory to the National Strategy for Ecologically Sustainable Development and Australia’s Biodiversity Conservation Strategy.,
