    • Summary:Sketchbook kept by Michael M. Humble, of the Rectory, Sutton-cum-Duckmanton, Derbyshire, during a trip to Germany and Northern Europe in 1844. Comprises 44 pencil, wash, or watercolor drawings, some just preliminary studies, but including watercolors of towns, scenery, and dining companions. On one inner board Humble has listed paint colors and their characteristics. Humble was rector of the parish for 50 years, 1839-1889.
