Biographical / Historical note:Thomas Seccombe, English biographer and writer. From 1891 to 1901 he was the assistant editor of the Dictionary of National Biography. He was born in 1866 and died in 1923.

Summary:Scrapbook compiled by Thomas Seccombe on the English Victorian novelist and poet, George Meredith. Seccombe created the scrapbook in his work for an article for the Dictionary of National Biography, Second Supplement. The scrapbook includes clippings, correspondence, printed articles, galley proofs, and a manuscript concerning George Meredith by an unidentified author, dated 1888 to 1912. Accompanied by additional material removed from the scrapbook.
