    • Summary:Five manuscript volumes, in a single professional hand, containing instructions, document templates, and cases illustrating legal questions intended for use by an English or Welsh undersheriff while carrying out the legal duties of his office. Volume 1 contains an introduction to the duties of the undersheriff, followed by precedents and definitions of various documents and functions. Volumes 2-4 contain templates for indentures and other forms including those related to conveyances, mortgages and estates; and Volume 5 contains representative legal cases involving the rights of apprentices, property titles and property conveyances, and rights of inheritance.
