BAC: British Art Center copy bound in original burgundy cloth, with first aid kit. The kit lacks 1 (of 3) bandages and 1 (of 3) safety pins; otherwise complete. Also present is the original cardboard mailing box, addressed to Mrs. Adams, 4 East Road, Egremont, Cumberland.

Includes a first aid kit -- titled "The complete first aid outfit" -- in transparent pouch attached to the verso of the front cover. The kit includes: boric lint, a tin of boracic ointment, tincture of iodine, white open wove bandages of varying widths, two BPC sterilised burn dressings, sterilised finger dressing, hospital quality absorbent cotton wool, solution of ammonia, a reel of white thread, safety pins on card, a small brown envelope labelled "white jaconet" containing what appears to be gauze, and a small pot of adhesive zinc oxide plaster.

Biographical / Historical note:A.R.P. is the acronym for Air Raid Precautions, a program in the United Kingdom dedicated to the protection of civilians from the danger of air raids (starting ca. 1935). A.R.P. first aid kits were designed to be used at home and by A.R.P. wardens. In 1941, the A.R.P. became the Civil Defence Service.
