      • Location:LEWIS WALPOLE LIBRARY (Non-Circulating)
      • Call Number: 53 Io64
      • Status:Not Checked Out
      • Library Has: v.1-v.2
      • Notes:William's Poems are listed as no. 2988 in A.T. Hazen's Catalogue of Horace Walpole's library although the use of BP2 at this late date (1794) is puzzling, having been superseded by a later state in 1780 and then superseded by yet another new plate in two states by 1794 or 1795, signifying his succession to the earldom. Bound in contemporary brown tree calf with a single gold scolled-line border, blue marbled endpapers. For further information, consult library staff.
      • Provenance:With Horace Walpole's armorial bookplate (BP2) in vol.1 only. Also owned by Sylvain Van de Weyer, with his armorial bookplate in both volumes. A copy was sold at the Strawberry Hill sale, v. 151 to Thorpe; this set was probably part of the set offered but not identified as Walpole's in Thorpe's Supplement for 1842, lot 13412.
