• Summary:Folding stereoscope, by an unidentified manufacturer, with lenses and viewing platform integrated into upper and lower compartments of a small wooden box. When not in use, the lower compartment has space just large enough to store stereoscopic photographs.
  Accompanied by nine hand-colored stereographs, of a comic nature, by an unidentified publisher. The photographs have printed labels bearing a title or dialogue to accompany the domestic scenes. In one, for example, a lady tells her boy servant: "Your character is satisfactory, but I'm very particular about one thing; I wish my servants to have plenty, but I don't allow any waste"; the boy replies: "Oh, no, 'm, which I'd eat and drink till I busted, 'm rather than waster anything 'm." The images may also play on cultural stereotypes, such as "Barney's Blarney." The reverse of one of the slides bears the ink stamp of "J.J. Hardeman, Music Warehouse, 33 Queen Street, Rhyl [Wales]."
