    • Summary:The Duke of Dorset wrote this letter to Clarke while the latter was in Florence acting as governor to Henry Tufton, Sackville's nephew, the fourth son of the Earl of Thanet. Dorset explains that he has received Clarke's letters from Basel, Bern, and Turin and expresses his hope that Clarke will remain in Florence, as Tufton wishes. Dorset also notes that he has given a caution about the Ladies, and writes that Tufton must return to England in April so that he not miss his passage to Canada. Finally, Dorset sends his compliments to Lord Berwick. The letter is accompanied by a note in which Clarke explains that the note was from the Duke of Dorset and that it was written to me in Italy, concerning the education of his nephew.
