    • Notes:The British School was founded by John Thomas Serres, George Field, and William Ashford in 1802 to be an alternative to Royal Academy, for theshowing and sale of original British art. It was not a financial success & the venture lasted only 18 months. George Field is probably the author of this prospectus.
