    • Summary:Manuscript recipe book containing a wide variety of recipes for cured and potted meats, breads, puddings, preserves, custards and wines. Some recipes appear to show an Indian influence, such as the rice recipes and some sauces. Also contains some medical recipes, including salves, heartburn pills, cold remedies, and lozenges for whooping cough. Volume also includes recipes for cleaning linen, silver and brass and removing stains from fabrics and leather. Alphabetical index follows the recipes.
      Back of volume contains several recipes in a later 19th century hand.
