Scope and Contents
This small collection of papers of Dr. William Priest (fl. 1799-1810) is of interest for those studying the history of medicine. Included are a letter from Dr. Hugo Burghardt referring a patient with liver trouble to Priest and enclosing Burghardt's prescription; a letter from Olmsted Catlin concerning the uses of a variety of medicines; a bill from Samuel White for medicines and medical equipment; Priest's medical day book, kept in Hillsdale, New York, between 1807 and 1810, which details medical services provided to patients and the fees charge; and a ledger.
