Abstract

It appears that due to the inherent computational complexity and repetitive nature of the yacht design process computer aided design (CAD) techniques may be usefully applied. The feasibility of a computer aided yacht design system is thus investigated. Criteria are developed for a successful yacht design system and the possible implementation of such a system investigated. Conclusions are thus reached as to future developmental goals for a computer aided yacht design system.
