Fronds of 1 to 6-week-old were cultured in 6 outdoor tanks (500l or 1,000l in volume) for a week at a turnover rate of three times a day under the sunlight. Initial frond density was 0 .1g/l. The daily growth rates of 1- to 6-week-old fronds were 35.8, 47.4, 44.5, 24.8, 18.5 and 4.9%, respectively.\nAlthough maturation caused relatively low growth rates of a part of 4-and all 5-and 6-week-old fronds, but those of 2-and 3-week-old fronds were 45.8%, higher than previous records . Saline groundwater had constant and suitable water temperature (19.9±0.2℃), salinity (33.65±0.08 PSU) and pH (7.36±0.12) with suitable inorganic nitrogen (332.0±64 .5μ mol/l) and phosphate (0.71± 0.13μ mol/l).
