Sixty-one students performed 13 daily life activities wearing a brace, and filled out a questionnaire before and just after this experience. The findings were as follows: 1. The students who lived with the elderly did not vary their responses following the simulation in the evaluation of daily life activities with aging. They showed decreased awareness that \"Elderly are irritable\" and \"Elderly are selfish\", and had increased their intentions to \"consider the state of mind and body of the elderly\" and \"offer a seat to the elderly on a train or a bus\". 2. The students who did not live with the elderly changed their evaluation of movement ability for \"walking on flat surfaces\" and \"walking up a slope and stairs\". They showed revised awareness in 6 of 12 items concerning the elderly and had increased their intentions of 6 of 7 items concerning support for the elderly. These findings show that the experience program is more effective for students who do not live with the elderly than for students who do.
