El navegante en “caravana de fuego”: Leandro o la escritura “con letra bastarda”

Abstract

El artículo se centra en las genuinidad paródica del tratamiento quevediano de las míticas figuras de Hero y Leandro en los romances núsm. 210 y 711 de su Poesía original. El mito tal como lo trata Quevedo es contrastado con los usos que de esta fábula hace la tradición y orquestado por la novedad que le infunden Lope, Góngora y muy especialmente nuestro autor. Tras diferenciar parodia e intertextualidad, se muestra que Quevedo eleva el tratamiento paródico del mito a su genialidad máxima formulando toda una poética: deconstrucción de paradigmas lexicalizados, novedad representacional de las figuras de Hero y Leandro y elementos subversivos y carnavalescos constituyen algunos elementos importantes de la formulación paródica a la que somete los poemas don Francisco y donde la capacidad generativa del lector en su cotejo de la fábula original y su reelaboración quevediana es imprescindible para un entendimiento cabal de estos textos. This article focuses on the excelling parodic treatment of the mythic Hero and Leander in poems 210 and 711 of Quevedo´s poetic work. The study of the quevedian understanding of the myth is put in contrast with its use in the textual tradition and the novelty infused to it by Lope, Góngora and, very especially by our author. After differentiating between parody and intertextuality, the article shows Quevedo’s masterful parodic usage of the fable to the extent of shaping a new poetic formula. Deconstruction of lexical paradigms, representational novelty of the Hero-Leander figures, subversive and carnival elements constitute some key elements of this new parodic elaboration of the myth in the poems by don Francisco, where the reader’s generative meaningfulness is fundamental to the full understanding of the poems.
