Abstract |
John Ivey discusses the University Park area of Denver, Colorado, noting that when he moved to the neighborhood, businesses in University Park were well established and few vacant lots remained for development. He says that the only change that he has seen is in the landscaping and vegetation, especially the maturation of trees in the area. Many professionals lived on his block including doctors, dentists, lawyers, and stockbrokers. He says that he believes the University of Denver has had a positive effect on the area since there were many campus activities that residents of the neighborhood could attend, such as athletic events and plays. Ivey also discusses his experiences during the time that he was Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 5, Denver, Colorado from 1968 to 1972.
