Abstract
The main aims of this research are to identify and investigate the key drivers and barriers to the sustainable development of commercial property in New Zealand, including the roles played by central government, the NZGBC and practitioners/businesses which operate in New Zealand’s commercial property sector. Research was conducted into the key drivers and barriers to the sustainable development of commercial property in New Zealand. Existing research has been identified and reviewed. Primary research has been undertaken utilising a combination of an online survey of the commercial property sector using the Qualtrics online survey software and an in person structured interview with a representative of the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC).
