| Abstract: | Over many years, especially during the post-war reconstruction of the nineteenth century, the dwelling's exterior space was one of the major concerns of the architects. If the theme initially emerged as a way to improve the housing health that was suffering a strong pressure caused by the exponential growth of industrialized cities, quickly it was integrated into the domestic space as a projetual theme, capable of a substantially improvement of the interior space quality. The exterior is in this study, considered as a dwelling fragment that can completely change the home experience. Through a pragmatic analysis of the study cases, based on the various projetual tools available to architects, the main goal is to study the role of the exterior space in the spatial design, among the diverse typologies that respond to certain projective conditions inserted, geographically and climatically in very distinct areas. Towards the study cases, that point out the integration of the dwellings outer space, matters the piece analysis from what it exteriorize point of view, how it does and how is it possible to be vertically repeatable in the collective housing, without losing of the space quality. Usually, on the ground floor level is common to find such spaces, which somehow, reflects its need and importance. Once hindered the contact with the ground floor as the building grows in height, a solution is needed, so that the upper floor units can enjoy the outside space that is usually guaranteed on the lower dwellings. The subject interest is due, firstly, to its ability to improve the interior space quality, and also, even if influenced, the ability to a several type of uses. Regardless of the domain, private or collective, or the type of established relationships with the interior, its greater purpose is the use ability and extension of the domestic program that simultaneously instils a greater sense and spatial quality to the dwelling in particular, and the building in general, as an articulator of the various units. |
| Description: | Ao longo de largos anos, especialmente na época do pós-guerra e da reconstrução do século XIX, o espaço exterior do fogo foi uma das maiores preocupações dos arquitetos. Se inicialmente este surgiu como uma forma de melhorar a salubridade da habitação, principalmente coletiva, que à data sofria uma forte pressão provocada pelo crescimento exponencial das cidades industrializadas, rapidamente se integrou no espaço doméstico como um tema projetual capaz de melhorar substancialmente a qualidade espacial interior. O exterior é considerado no presente trabalho, como um fragmento do fogo capaz de alterar inteiramente a vivência doméstica. Através da análise pragmática dos casos de estudo, com base nas várias ferramentas projetuais de que dispõe os arquitetos, é objetivo estudar o papel do espaço exterior na conceção espacial, dentro das suas diversas tipologias, que respondem a determinadas condicionantes projetuais e que se inserem geográfica e climaticamente em zonas bastante distintas. Perante os casos de estudo, que ressaltam pela integração do exterior no espaço do fogo, importa a análise da peça, do ponto de vista do que ela exterioriza, como o faz e como pode ser repetível verticalmente, num edifício de habitação coletiva, sem que a qualidade espacial se perca. Habitualmente, ao nível do piso térreo é comum a existência de espaços deste tipo, o que de certa forma traduz a sua necessidade e importância. Uma vez dificultado o contacto com o solo à medida que o edifício cresce em altura, é necessária uma solução, para que as unidades dos pisos superiores não abdiquem do exterior que o piso térreo tem geralmente garantido. O interesse pelo tema deve-se, em primeiro lugar, à sua capacidade de alterar a qualidade espacial do interior, e, ainda que naturalmente influenciável, à aptidão para um tipo de usos mais vastos. Independentemente do seu domínio, privado ou coletivo, ou do tipo de relação que estabelece com o interior, a sua maior finalidade é a capacidade de uso e de extensão do programa doméstico que simultaneamente incute um maior sentido e qualidade espacial ao fogo em particular, e ao edifício em geral, como articulador das várias unidades. |
