This interdisciplinary research has been conceived to comprehend the conflict
occurrences from our everyday lives to global politics to achieve some theoretical assertion
by grounding two seminal works of literature from Huntington and Karlberg. Extended
critical theory coupled with the Multi-Grounded Theory (MGT) and qualitative study design
was adopted as a research framework. In order to achieve theoretical, empirical and internal
grounding, the validity of these theories has been critically and vigorously contested. The
theoretical assertion concludes that conflict occurrences are an evolving complex
phenomenon occurring through the intertwined dynamics of three global codes namely
identity, need and function. Further research is recommended to mitigate conflict
occurrences [-]
