Abstract: This course is designed to develop representational drawing skills and a critical approach to form and content. Through the process of drawing students will learn to interpret three-dimensional reality on a two dimensional surface. The course will consist of in-class and homework assignments. We will work primarily from observation. The subjects will include still life, landscape (weather permitting), and portraiture. The course will be supplemented with technical demonstrations, critiques, and slide lectures.
