Learning from mistakes, crossing boundaries. Oral history between Italy and Slovenia

Introduction to the proceedings of the conference 'Learning from mistakes. Difficulties, complications, afterthoughts in oral history" (Treviso -Venice, 10 and 11 October 2022). The conference is the result of a process of elaboration of shared procedures carried out within the Italian Association of Oral History (Good Practices for Oral History; Vademecum for the treatment of oral sources) and the research project IT-POW FAMILIES (Families and Memories of Italian Prisoners of War in Yugoslavia after World War II), supported by the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme of the European Union under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement n. 839474, which is being developed at the University of Venice since 2020. It deals with the methodology of oral history, its intersubjective and always experimental nature. Particular attention is paid to oral history research in the border area between Italy and Slovenia.
