The article presents initial reflections arising from ongoing ethnographic research carried out at the Damanhur Community located in Valchiusella (Turin). In particular, some initial insights are provided on the concept of gender within the community. Reflections are also made on the division of community work roles between men and women in Damanhur's daily life, considering particularly magic roles.
