Implementação da Metodologia de Cuidado Humanitude: Contributo para o sistema organizacional

Abstract

O reconhecimento do aumento número de pessoas idosas institucionalizadas, cada vez mais dependentes e a necessitar de cuidados convoca a uma prestação de cuidados cada vez mais exigente e diferenciada constituindo assim o mote para a presente investigação, a qual assume como objetivo central desta investigação compreender de que forma a Metodologia de Cuidado Humanitude facilita a prestação de cuidados em Estruturas Residenciais para Pessoas Idosas e o contributo da mesma para o sistema organizacional. Para tal, esta dissertação utilizou uma metodologia qualitativa de caráter exploratório e descritivo, alicerçada em dois eixos analíticos: cuidadores e prestação de cuidados, e sistema organizacional, tendo a aproximação ao terreno sido feita pela aplicação de questionários a três formadores da Metodologia de Cuidado Humanitude. Os resultados do estudo sugerem que a metodologia se revela aliada dos profissionais na prática de cuidados humanizados, resultando em relação às pessoas cuidadas, numa diminuição da sua agitação e numa promoção da sua autonomia. Para os cuidadores profissionais a metodologia reverte benefícios múltiplos dos quais se destacam, a redução do absentismo, a satisfação e motivação profissional. Para o sistema organizacional, esta metodologia contribui para promover a qualidade dos cuidados e inerente visibilidade institucional. No que diz respeito aos constrangimentos associados à implementação da metodologia, encontraram-se pontos em comum nos dois eixos, como a rotinização das práticas, o foco da ação muito centrado nas tarefas e a resistência à mudança.No essencial e em termos conclusivos o estudo revela que a Metodologia de Cuidado Humanitude acrescenta valor às Estruturas Residenciais para Pessoas Idosas permitindo melhor direcionar os cuidados para satisfazer as particularidades das pessoas idosas, dignificando-as, ao mesmo tempo que constitui uma ferramenta que sistematiza e operacionaliza a relação no cuidado. As implicações para a prática que daqui resultam prendem-se sobretudo com a necessidade de intensificar a formação dos profissionais com técnicas relacionais, para que possam melhor intervir junto de pessoas vulneráveis a residir em Estrutura Residências para Pessoas Idosas.

The recognition of the increasing number of institutionalized elderly people, who are increasingly dependent and in need of care, calls for an increasingly demanding and differentiated care provision, thus constituting the motto for the present investigation, which assumes the central objective of this investigation to understand what forms the Methodology of Care Humanitude facilitates the provision of care in Residential Structures for Elderly People and its contribution to the organizational system. To this end, this dissertation used a qualitative methodology of an exploratory and descriptive character, based on two analytical axes: caregivers and care delivery, and organizational system, with the approach to the terrain being made through the application of questionnaires to three trainers of the Methodology of Care Humanitude. The results of the study suggest that the methodology proves to be an ally of professionals in the practice of humanized care, resulting in relation to the people being cared for, in a reduction of their agitation and in the promotion of their autonomy. For professional caregivers, the methodology reverses multiple benefits, of which stand out, the reduction of absenteeism, satisfaction and professional motivation. For the organizational system, this methodology contributes to promoting the quality of care and inherent institutional visibility. With regard to the constraints associated with the implementation of the methodology, common points were found in both axes, such as the routinization of practices, the focus of the action, which is very focused on tasks and resistance to change. Essentially and in conclusive terms, the study reveals that the Methodology of Care Humanitude adds value to the Residential Structures for Elderly People, allowing a better targeting of care to satisfy the particularities of the elderly, dignifying them, while constituting a tool that systematizes and operationalizes the relationship in care. The implications for the practice that result from this are mainly related to the need to intensify the training of professionals with relational techniques, so that they can better intervene with vulnerable people living in Structure Residences for the Elderly.
