E.S. Coffey was a native of Watauga County, and an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1890). He later taught school and became an attorney in Boone, North Carolina. This collection contains a Euzelian Literary Society lapel pin, Greek, Latin, Chemistry and Zoology notebooks, and an 1890 Wake Forest College commencement program. One notebook appears to have belonged to brother Thomas Finley Coffey.

Biographical and Historical Note
Edgar Stuart (E. S.) Coffey was a native of Watauga County, North Carolina, and an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1890). He later taught school and became an attorney in Boone, North Carolina. Stuart had an older brother, Thomas Finley Coffey, who graduated Wake Forest College in 1888.
