A key rquirement for Digital Media practitioners and artists is the
ability to connect different hardware and software. To enable this
communication a myriad of protocols have been developed including
MIDI, Serial, DMX, OSC, Ethernet , SPI etc. The student and re-
searcher working in the Digital Art domain needs to be fully confident
in the use of such protocols.
The aim of this project is to survey the most common communication
protocols used in the Digital Art domain and create a substantial
information resource (in PDF and as an online WIKI). It is intended
that this source will be a  one stop shop for student studying digital
art who are need of information regarding communication protocols.
