Title: | Development of sensor and inverter building boards for a self sustainable water purification system | Authors: | Lim, Carol Yening. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Control and instrumentation::Control engineering | Issue Date: | 2009 | Abstract: | This project is part of developing a measurement board to monitor a Self Sustainable Water Purification System to encourage a sustainable development of cities. A Water Purification System is a system to purify sea water to pure water. However in the process, heat is dissipated so small and portable sensors board need to be built to monitor the system. In addition, for a Sustainable development a photovoltaic system is use to supply power to the boards. The objective of this project is to develop different types of sensor such as temperature, humidity, light, current and voltage sensors through applied research and test performed on the inverter board. This report summarises the process of designing a prototype for some sensors board and digital board like NAND flash, Real Time Clock and Transceiver. As temperature sensor needs to expose to weather as well as easily storage so the author needs to design a temperature sensor circuit to meet the requirement. Therefore, thermocouple is used. In addition, other types of sensor and digital boards have to be designed on Printed Circuit Board as a requirement. The author begins the project by researching on concepts relating to the sensors, NAND flash, Real Time Clock and Transceiver, selecting of components, designing of the schematic, followed by the purchase of the right components for the prototype. Suitable software (Altium) is then chosen to route the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and the respective components are then soldered as well as test on the manufactured PCB. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/18722 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
