Title: | Development of database management system for underground cavern construction | Authors: | Tan, Shao | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Civil engineering | Issue Date: | 2017 | Abstract: | For space development, Singapore as well as many countries around the world chose to go underground. With the different uses of underground space, construction of these caverns have to be handled differently. For design and excavation of underground space, geological uncertainties such as Quality Index (Q), Rock Mass Ratio (RMR) and Geological Strength Index (GSI) play very important role. Though the importance is known, the database of these important uncertainties has not been established. This FYP project is related to a joint NTU/Hyundai research project. This report analyses the rock parameters collected from various research papers on past cavern project history, compares afew database management systems (DBMS) and state the instructions to build query using DBMS with the data collected. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/70660 | Schools: | School of Civil and Environmental Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
