[EN]Speaking of tax documents Concejil I mean both generated in the municipalities as a result of the management that they were of royal taxation in its various tax figures as to the strictly municipal.
Although in the sixteenth century the Castilian majority of the population was rural and the economy centered around agricultural production, it is essential to know how their cities, what resources are available, the forces that controlled them, who were moving on their premises claiming rights or power. This was because it was happening in the cities went beyond its own framework and conditioned the rest of society. One of the most effective indicators that may help shed light on these issues is taxation, not only for its ability to reflect dialectically on the wealth and / or political influence each other, but as an explanatory factor of numerous social behaviors and economic phenomena.
