Abstract
Particle-based modeling has been a popular method for modeling fabric deformations due to its fast calculation speed. However, it is still difficult to control material properties of fabrics and to prevent calculations from diverging. This study explored and uncovered stability regions among time step and physical forces for stable cloth simulation for various explicit integration methods. We used a triangular mesh with a new bending model to control the bending stiffness. The Cusick drapemeter test was simulated and drape coefficients
showed a linear relationship with experiments.
