Abstract
LPSG(Linear.Phrase Structure Grammar) is a grammar model which aims at binary and strictly linear parsing of natural languages. For binarism LPSG adopted binary rules. For linear parsing we introduced some principles such as DCAP, DCIP and CCP:
Default Category Assignment Principle(DCAP)
If X→Y, Z is an ID rule, Y=X[-Z] and Z=X[-Y].
Default Category Inheritance Principle(DCAP)
If X→Y, Z is an ID rule, Y[U]=X[U,-Z] and Z[U] = X[U, -Y],
where U is a set of default categories.
Category Composition Principle(CCP)
(1) A default category [-X] is cancelled, if it hits X node with no default category.
(2) If a default category [-X] hits an X node with default categories,
[-X] is replaced by the default categories of X.
