O método London Benchmarking Group : aplicação ao caso Projeto “Saúde a Sorrir – Centro de Apoio à Saúde Oral” da Associação “Mundo a Sorrir”

Abstract

O trabalho realizado pretende avaliar, através da aplicação da metodologia do modelo LBG (London Benchmarking Group), qual o impacto social de um investimento realizado pela Fundação EDP (Energias de Portugal), para apoiar a construção de uma clínica dentária no Projeto “Saúde a Sorrir – Centro de Apoio à Saúde Oral” da Associação “Mundo a Sorrir”. A estreita colaboração com a Associação permitiu a recolha dos dados necessários para a aplicação da metodologia, assim como a análise dos resultados decorridos da aplicação de outro modelo de avaliação de impacto, o Social Return on Investment (SROI), no mesmo projeto, contributo importante para o apuramento dos impactos gerados pelo investimento da Fundação EDP. Como principal resultado da aplicação do modelo LBG, destaca-se o apuramento dos resultados imediatos e dos impactos gerados pelo investimento realizado pela Fundação EDP. Constatou-se que o investimento de 50.000 euros permitiu atingir alavancagens no valor de 287.453 euros e benefícios para a comunidade, como o atendimento gratuito de 1665 utentes, que beneficiaram de um total de 14988 tratamentos. Como principais impactos para os beneficiários diretos destacam-se o aumento do conhecimento relativamente à importância dos cuidados de saúde oral, a melhoria dos cuidados de higiene oral e do estado geral da boca/dentes e a melhoria da autoestima. O apuramento destes resultados e impactos permitiu que a EDP compreendesse quais as mudanças geradas na comunidade onde atuou e ficasse com a certeza de que o investimento permitiu atingir resultados positivos.

The work aims to evaluate, through the application of the methodology of the LBG (London Benchmarking Group) model, the social impact of an investment made by EDP (Energias de Portugal) Foundation, to support the construction of a dental clinic within the “Saúde a Sorrir – Centro de Apoio à Saúde Oral” Project of the “Mundo a Sorrir” Association. The close collaboration with the Association enabled the collection of the necessary data to apply the methodology, as well as the analysis of the results from the application of another type of impact assessment, the Social Return on Investment (SROI), in the same project, an important contribution to the establishment of the impacts generated by the investment of EDP Foundation. As a main result of the application of the LBG model, the work highlights the ascertainment of the immediate results and of the impacts generated by the investment made by EDP. It was noted that the investment of 50,000 euros has been effective in achieving leverages amounting to 287,453 euros and benefits for the community, such as free services for 1665 users, who benefited from a total of 14988 treatments. Main impacts for the direct beneficiaries include the increased knowledge of oral health care, the improvement of the oral hygiene care and of the mouth/teeth general condition and the self-esteem improvement. The ascertainment of these results and impacts has enabled EDP to understand which changes were generated in the community where itacted and to be certain that the investment had been effective in achieving positive results.
