Qualidade de vida sexual na menopausa

Abstract

A Qualidade de Vida Sexual é um termo habitualmente usado, para abranger aspectos relacionados com a ausência ou presença de problemas sexuais, satisfação e bem-estar sexual, sendo esta bastante subjectiva. Neste sentido, é fundamental rememorar que a presença de problemas sexuais não é, de todo sinónimo de má qualidade de vida sexual. Na verdade, a sexualidade na menopausa inclui, igualmente, sexo, relaxamento, comunicação e intimidade partilhada entre o casal, como em qualquer outra etapa da vida. Deste modo, A vida sexual existe e persiste “viva”, até alcançar níveis de idade mais avançados. Aqui, o que se altera é somente a frequência dos desejos e a actividade sexual. Sendo assim, a Menopausa amá-la ou detestá-la? Esta afecta todas as mulheres em todo o mundo, apesar das atitudes em relação à menopausa variarem entre dissemelhantes culturas, em algumas a menopausa tem uma conotação negativa, ou seja, marca o fim da fertilidade e o início de uma condição debilitante, quando comparada com as jovens, férteis, mulheres bonitas. Todavia, noutras culturas a menopausa é celebrada como o fim das impurezas mensais e delimitações de tabus, com início de uma era de maturidade, sabedoria e liberdade. Relativamente ao tema central da investigação e, tendo em conta a avaliação da qualidade de vida sexual na menopausa (n=108) através do questionário da qualidade de vida sexual (SQoL-F), os resultados obtidos revelaram que as mulheres na meia-idade (51-60 anos) e, claramente na menopausa, demonstram ter uma boa qualidade de vida sexual.

The Quality of Sexual Life is a term commonly used, to comprise aspects associated with the absence or presence of sexual problems, sexual satisfaction and well-being, though fairly subjective. Accordingly, it is vital to recollect that the presence of sexual problems is not entirely a connotation of bad quality of sexual life. Indeed, sexuality in menopause, as in any other stage of life, equally, includes, sex, relaxation, communication and intimacy shared between the couple. Thus, sexual life exists and persists “alive”, until it reaches farther age levels. What changes at this point is just the frequency of the libido and sexual activity. In this regard, the menopause: to love it or to hate it? It affects every women all over the world, though the attitudes regarding menopause vary between dissimilar cultures, in some, menopause has a negative connotation, that is, it marks the end of fertility and the beginning of a feeble condition, when compared with the young, fertile, beautiful women. Nevertheless, in other cultures, menopause is celebrated as the end of the monthly impurity and taboos delimitation, with the beginning of a maturity, wisdom and freedom era. Regarding the main theme of the research and, taking into account the evaluation of quality of life in menopause (n=108) through the questionnaire of quality of sexual life (SQoLF), the results obtained revealed that middle-aged women (51-60 years old), clearly in menopause, demonstrate having a good quality of sexual life.
