Biography of Emmanuel Jones

Reverend Emmanuel Jones was a Welsh minister who spent much of his career in the Kansas City area on both the Kansas and Missouri sides. He was born in 1872 in Llandudno, North Wales, and immigrated to Canada and then the United States as a young man in 1891. He spent his early years in the U.S. in New York City, where he first felt the call to become a minister. He later studied under Dwight L. Moody in Mount Hermon near Northfield, Massachusetts, followed by further education at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1900.

Jones married his wife Margaret, a Missourian, sometime around 1909, and she accompanied him on his many appointments across the U.S. Jones was a minister in several states, including Illinois, Arkansas, and North Dakota, but he spent the majority of his career in Kansas and Missouri. Additionally, during World War I, Jones was appointed Secretary in the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) and was sent to England, where he spent 14 months as a guide for American soldiers in London.

Emmanuel Jones died in 1956 and is buried in Kansas City, Missouri.
