  • A model for actuating a synthetic microswimmer with a flexible flagella using an acoustic field to excite an oscillating wave in the flagellum is presented in this paper. In order to create the largest possible wave amplitudes, the wavenumber of the fluid is matched to the wavenumber of the microswimmer's flagellum at a particular modal frequency.
