Resumo
A docência masculina é uma prática pioneira na história da educação. Esta prática
surge
da
necessidade de gerações mais velhas
transmitirem conhecimento e informação a
novas gerações.
Assim, a
educação tem como objetivo propiciar desenvolvimento

sistema de ensino
no Brasil

proles. As
profissões estão historicamente ligadas a diferenças obtidas através dos gêneros feminino e
masculino.

O magistério d

é uma das profissões
estigmatizada por este fenômeno.
Portanto, esta investigação,
construída a partir da análise de
dados, mostra como atuam
os
docentes
homens em salas do ensino infantil (1° ciclo do
Ensino Fundamental)
e o modo como são percebidos
pela escola e pela família. O essen

neste estudo é compreender
como foram construídas
as representaç

os poucos docentes masculinos que atuam em séries iniciais, assim como, apresentar os
principais
aspectos
desta realidade.
The male teaching is a pioneer practice in the history of education. This practice arises from the need of older generations to transmit knowledge and information to new generations. So the e ducation aims to foster individual development in the areas of psychomotor, intellectual ity and sociabil ity. In Brazil, a developing country marked by sharp social differences, this task becomes quite complex. Our education system began in aristocratic bases, providing education an exclusionary character, because education was taught by Jesuits only for the sons of aristocratic. With the formal ization process of education, the practice of teaching happens to attract women who see an opportunity to acquire autonomy and financial independence, since they have already developed this practice informally, as careg ivers of their offspring. The professions are historically linked to differences obtained from the male and female gender. The Magisterium of the initial series is one of the professions stigmatized by this phenomenon. This research, constructed from the d ata analysis, shows how these teachers work and how they are perceived by the school and the family. The key in this study is to understand how they are constructed the social representations that fit the few male teachers working in early grades, as well as presenting the main factors of this reality.
