Satisfação com a vida em militares da Guarda Nacional Republicana do comando territorial de Leiria: relação com a afetividade positiva e negativa, pessimismo e otimismo

Resumo
A investigação na área da psicologia tem aumentado, vastos são os estudos
relacionados com a satisfação com a vida e respetivos conceitos relativos às características
positivas do ser humano.
O presente estudo tem como objetivo avaliar as características positivas dos militares
da Guarda Nacional Republicana, nomeadamente a satisfação com a vida, a afetividade
positiva e negativa e o pessimismo e otimismo.
Para a realização da investigação foi recolhida uma amostra constituída por 443
militares do Comando Territorial da Guarda Nacional Republicana de Leiria, sendo 399 do
sexo masculino e 44 do sexo feminino. Os militares preencheram um protocolo que incluía os
dados sociodemográficos e avaliava a Escala de Satisfação com a Vida e as Subescalas de
Afetividade Positiva, de Afetividade Negativa, de Otimismo e de Pessimismo.
Após a aplicação de todos os procedimentos estatísticos foi possível inferir que, a
maiores índices de otimismo estão associados maiores índices de afetividade positiva e de
satisfação com a vida e, a menores índices de otimismo estão associados maiores índices de
afetividade negativa e de pessimismo.
Permitiu-nos também concluir que, a maiores índices de pessimismo estão associados
menores índices de afetividade positiva e de satisfação com a vida e, a maiores índices de
pessimismo estão associados maiores índices de afetividade negativa.
No que concerne à satisfação com a vida, a maiores índices de satisfação com a vida
estão associados maiores índices de afetividade positiva e, a maiores índices de satisfação
com a vida estão associados menores índices de afetividade negativa.
Neste estudo, verificou-se apenas existir evidência estatística para afirmar que os
militares do sexo feminino apresentam índices médios de satisfação com a vida superiores aos
do sexo masculino. Em termos amostrais, os militares do sexo feminino apresentaram sempre
maiores índices de afetividade positiva, de afetividade negativa e de otimismo. Relativamente
aos índices de pessimismo foram os militares do sexo masculino a obterem índices mais
elevados.

After applying all statistical procedures it was possible to infer that the greatest optimism indices are associated with higher levels of positive affect and life satisfaction and optimism at lower ratios are associated with higher levels of negative affectivity and pessimism. Also enabled us to conclude that the greater pessimism indices are associated with lower levels of positive affect and life satisfaction and the greatest pessimism indices are associated with higher negative affectivity rates. With regard to life satisfaction, the highest rates of satisfaction with life are associated with greater positive affect rates and the highest rates of satisfaction with life are associated with lower levels of negative. With regard to life satisfaction, the highest rates of satisfaction with life are associated with greater positive affect rates and the highest rates of satisfaction with life are associated with lower levels of negative affectivity. In this study, there was only statistical evidence exists to assert that the female soldiers have average levels of life satisfaction higher than males. In sampling terms, the military females consistently reported higher levels of positive affectivity, negative affectivity and optimism. With regard to pessimism indices were male soldiers to achieve higher rates.
