This basis supports the subsequent analysis as it regards stories which, respectively, highlight the issues of globality and localism, passed and present. This lens is then adopted to analyze the history of accounting in Palermo, as discussed in a conference organized in occasion of the celebrations for the bicentenary of the local University. In particular, the paper focuses on the authors of the XVII-XX Century who may be divided in two streams: one in the Modern and one in the Contemporary Age. The authors are progressively characterized by polymorphism of economic concerns, doctrinary speculation and theory-practice integration. Successively it regards documents and books of the XIV-XX Century which span four epochs, two in the Ancien Régime, two in the Contemporary Age. These works are distinguished by means of facts, ideas and institutions regarding the accounting field. Finally, it proposes some conclusions about the above mentioned conference.

Abstract

L’articolo pone in premessa (par. In quest’ottica esso tratta in seguito (par. This paper begins by outlining foundational aspects of the “glocal” and “intertemporal” histo-riographic research perspectives.
