The paper develops a service classification to support knowledge based processes within dynamic environments. It develops a conceptual structure of process components and models, and shows their relationship to a business architecture to illustrate the kinds of services needed to integrate processes into the changing business environment. The paper distinguished between web services and business services and focuses on ways to combine web services in ways that support business services. Its goal is to develop a services architecture where services can be combined to support the variety of business activities. The paper identifies business services in terms of their strategic, management and operational levels and ways to combine these levels of services into agile processes that combine the three levels into one integrated process. The paper then defines ways to support such integration through platforms that integrate the services into a common context.
