The Attitudes Toward Health Care Teams Scale has two subscales: Quality of Care/Process (14 items) and Physician Centrality (6 items). It can be used to measure team members perceptions of the quality of care delivered and the quality of teamwork needed to accomplish it. The Physician Centrality subscale measured attitudes about physicians authority and their control of patient information. Across three phases, tests of reliability and validity demonstrate that each subscale is a strong measure of its underlying concept. Potential uses include educational team interventions, evaluating clinically based team training programs for students and residents.
