Chej Mae el Aînin ha sido un personaje importante en la historia del Magreb. Su influencia en
las cabilas saharianas le permitió mantener unas relaciones privilegiadas con los sultanes
marroquíes que pronto comprendieron el papel que Chej Maelainin podría desempeñar en su
nombre en estas regiones alejadas del poder central.Fue el hombre de confianza y su vigía en el
Sáhara en un sistema político en que el poder se mantiene fundamentalmente gracias a las
relaciones personales del Chej Maelainin.Pero el beneficio no fue unidireccional ya que el chej
pudo extender su influencia religiosa por todo el imperio gracias a la generosidad de los
sultanes Chej Mae el Aînin has been an important figure in the history of the Maghreb. Its influence on
the Saharan kabyles allowed him to maintain privileged relations with the Moroccan sultans.
They understood soon the role that could play Chej Maelainin in these remote regions on their
behalf. He was the man in the Sahara in a political system in which power is maintained due to
the trust relationships of Chej Maelainin. But the benefits were not unidirectional as the chej
was able to extend their religious influence to all the empire through the generosity of the
sultans
