Abstract
The project proposes the functional and safety adaptation of building 67 of the Javeriana University, which consists of the spatial intervention of the existing spaces, based on the application of the NSR10 (chapters J and K) supplemented with the NFPA 101 – Life Safety Code, in order to obtain comfort and optimally safe and functional spaces. It is selected from a qualitative study (surveys, evaluations, inspections) and quantitative (Stepdepth software and Flow Desing) a university building that presents flaws not only in its system of protection to human life but also suffers from an architectural design that responds to the need for protection. Having the determinants, a functional improvement of internal adaptation of spaces is proposed, implementing fire protection technologies in each one of the floors of the building. When carrying out the improvement, the redesigned plants are reinserted into the software used for the diagnosis, obtaining that the proposed response and solution to the problems identified in the first place.
