Abstract
To improve the productivity and efficiency of the brake and suspension maintenance process in Tecniautos Teusaquillo, the
BPM and Lean Manufacturing approaches were used through operations research techniques and simulation of discrete
events. Applying the process life cycle methodology for BPM and engineering tools such as time study, quality circles,
VSM and operations diagrams, in this project four improvement scenarios were designed according to the company's
strategy.
The measures used to assess the impact of each alternative were the total production time and the profit margin. In this
implementation the four proposed alternatives were simulated. Through the analysis of simulation data, and considering the
budget to be invested, it is ensured that the implementation of the four improvement solutions had a positive impact on the
total production time, as well as the company's profit margin.
