Abstract: | Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea), a member of is cruciferous or Brassicaceae family of winter newlineseason vegetables. It has essential nutrients and hold numerous health benefiting phytonutrients such newlineas vitamins, indole-3-carbinol and sulforaphane that help to prevent overweight, diabetes and offer newlineprotection from prostate, ovarian and cervical cancers. The Diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella L. newlinebelongs to the family Plutellidae. The species may have its origin in Europe, South Africa or the newlineMediterranean region, but it has now spread worldwide (Wie et al., 2013). To conduct the bioassay newlinestudies and to evaluate the efficacy of selected plant and rhizome extracts for the larvicidal activity newlineagainst Plutella xylostella(L). To study the antifungal activity of selected botanicals. To analyze the newlineprotein estimation studies on larval haemolymph. To identify the nature of the phytochemicals by newlinespectral studies. To find the efficacy of the identified phytochemicals on an In silico platform. The newlineroles of plant secondary metabolites are very important in their contribution to insect pest control newlinebecause they can significantly affect insect behavior. Plant extracts, especially botanical insecticides, newlineare currently studied more and more because of the possibility of their use in agricultural crop newlineprotection. Plants are natural reservoir of medicinal agents almost free from the side effects normally newlinecaused by synthetic chemicals. newlinei) Major objectives : newlineand#61656; To conduct the bioassay studies and to evaluate the efficacy of selected plant and rhizome newlineextracts for the larvicidal activity against P. xylostella(L) newlineand#61656; To study the antifungal activity of selected botanicals. newlineand#61656; To analyze the protein estimation on larval haemolymph. newlineand#61656; To identify the nature of the phytochemicals by spectral studies. newlineand#61656; To find the efficacy of the identified phytochemicals on an in silico platform. |
