Abstract: | In mobile ad hoc networks, dynamically changing topologies are the direct result of the mobility of the nodes which characterize the ad hoc networks Each node forwards packets to its peer nodes and each flow passes in multiple paths to multiple destinations through multiple hops using the wireless links The flows compete for shared channel if they are within the interference range of each other Based on different characteristics like robustness and energy expenditure the flows can carry out route selection with the availability of multiple routes to the same node Various applications ranging from the monitoring of herds of animals communication in military battlefields and civilian disaster recovery scenarios are enabled by these systems The mobility of nodes and their deployment with an intelligent network planning are necessitated by many of these applications In the design of ad hoc networks energy preservation distortion rate outage analysis multipath selection and synchronization are the major necessities during multipath multicasting of information The size is limited by the mobility of the nodes This in turn restricts the energy available to the nodes The time varying nature of the wireless channels among the ad hoc nodes is a major concern when dealing with energy management problems |
