Abstract: Due to the growth of technology and the increasing use of electronic devices and machines the demand for electrical power and the complexity of power system operation increases day by day So the electrical power systems engineers are very keenly formulated mechanism to address the following issues They are the high quality of supply economy reliability security and clean environment In order to achieve the best quality of solutions the power system parameters must be optimized The optimization problem of the power system is primarily divided into two categories such as Economic Dispatch (ED) and Optimal Power Flow OPF Economic Dispatch ED is the process of assigning the required load between the available generation units with the least operational cost In global two-thirds of the electric power is generated from Fossil-fuel power generating stations The electricity produced from this power generating plant releases numerous noxious wastes such as Sulphur Oxides SOx Nitrogen Oxides NOx and Carbon Oxides COx which in turn pollutes the atmosphere These harmful environmental pollutants emitted from the fossil-fuel power plants can be reduced by means of proper load allocation among the available generators But this would lead to an increase in the operating cost of the power plant So there is a need to identify a solution which balances both emission and fuel cost This could be achieved by Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch CEED problem In CEED problem two objective functions such as fuel cost and emission are integrated into a single objective function using the price penalty factor Optimal Power Flow OPF is one of the most important challenging tasks for operation planning and designing of the modern power system newline
