Abstract

The paper takes stock of significant results emanating from IDRC‐supported programmes, and how IDRC has supported research capacity development at the organizational level. It provides feedback into the consultation process for the formulation of IDRC`s next Corporate Strategy Program Framework (CSPF, 2010‐2015). IDRC’s efforts to develop and use frameworks to guide its capacity building efforts intentionally and purposefully, marks it out as a front‐runner in relation to other development cooperation institutions. IDRC’s collaborative partnerships have produced results which take on different meanings depending on the contexts/ ‘lens’ and time periods through which they are viewed.
